Uh, it's really whatever works best for each individual user. Mine's set at stay muted at 8 LED's, mute for 30 seconds, and mute rear K.
Uh i don't see anything in the programming to unmute at 8 led's...The only options are 4 and 6.
4 dots, saved my a$$ one moorning.
Yeah i currently have mine setup exactly like this http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...h-newbies.html I don't think i would feel comfortable with anymore muting than that..
The 4/6 LED settings are different:
The 4LED setting is, if the signal first appears at 4 LEDs, it will come in unmuted. This is designed to instantly alert you of an IO shot that was made at a reasonably close range.
The 6LED setting is, if the signal appears then ramps up to more than 6 LEDs, then it unmutes. This is more for rolling into a constant-on trap that's getting pretty close.
In my testing these two operate independently of each other.
I also used the K band automute walk through, I used 4 dots.
walk-throughs are nice
understanding is better
print this and have it with you
