    Default K band programming preference question

    When programming your V1,do you guys prefer for it to unmute at 4 lights or 6?Also for how many seconds do you have your muting set for?

    Uh, it's really whatever works best for each individual user. Mine's set at stay muted at 8 LED's, mute for 30 seconds, and mute rear K.

    Uh i don't see anything in the programming to unmute at 8 led's...The only options are 4 and 6.

    Keep F down and it'll stay muted at 8 LED's.

    Yeah i currently have mine setup exactly like this http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...h-newbies.html I don't think i would feel comfortable with anymore muting than that..

    The 4/6 LED settings are different:

    The 4LED setting is, if the signal first appears at 4 LEDs, it will come in unmuted. This is designed to instantly alert you of an IO shot that was made at a reasonably close range.

    The 6LED setting is, if the signal appears then ramps up to more than 6 LEDs, then it unmutes. This is more for rolling into a constant-on trap that's getting pretty close.

    In my testing these two operate independently of each other.

    jdong is absolutely correct. This is not clear when you read the V1 ask Mike#3 as well as the Kband mute sticky on the boards. I thought I had the choice of 4 or 6, but in reality it depends on the onset strength of the encounter.

    I also used the K band automute walk through, I used 4 dots.
