Default V1, problem with K band....not detecting some cops..

OK when i first got my V1 1.8 (no pop) it worked fantastic, now about a year and a half later, its not picking up K band from certain areas. My friends escort 8500 picks them up fine, my v1 doesn't pick them up at ALL anymore. I know they have there radar on because i'm right next to him when hes getting the signal. I don't know if there is anything I can do, or do i just have to send it back? Anyone else have the same issue?

Have you messed with any of the settings by chance?
If so maybe you have K band turned off by accident?
    Check the simple things first.

The LO has drifted out of tune. The same thing happened to mine, after about 15 months. I sent it out to VR and they fixed it free of charge, even though it was out of warranty.

LO = local oscillator. All superheterodyne receivers have them. The signal from the LO is mixed with the signal from the antenna to convert the radar signals to a lower frequency that is easier to scan for. This is an oversimplified explanation, I'm sure Jimbonzzz will be by to fill us in with the gritty details of superhet conversion.

The LO is also the reason detectors emit a signal that Spectres can detect, not to mention the reason that Crapras and Unicrap RDs cause our detectors to false.
