Got my first "J" out today

Well since i like to see first hand,what actually does what i decided to turn pop on.I immediately noticed that the V1's sensitivity was a lil hotter.I picked up more falses in my normal ride to and from work that normal traveling on the same route twice today.I picked up a Ka hit from the front by a local officer.We passed each other and the arrow went to the rear and i thought everything was fine.Well i saw him park off to the side of the road running Ka on the people that where coming around a blind bend.Their where no parking spaces where i wanted to park,so i had to find a spot back on the road he was setup on.As i made the right turn back onto the road,i got the Ka hit and then it instantly went to flashing the "J"..No pop mode for me!!!!

Sorry if this question was already answered many times but what does the "J" mode do ?

I have an older version and have no "J" mode ...

Time to upgrade it ...

It;s not a "J" mode it a feature that V1 added that in the event that it picks up a junk signal,like from a leaky cobra radar or something of that nature,it shrugs it off as junk and displays a "J" on the screen.

I thought the "J" out function worked separate from the pop on pop off feature.I noticed that with pop on,the receivers are more sensitive which makes it more prone to picking up junk signals.

I sometimes get phantom KA hits. It'll alert like a normal threat and sometimes get to 6-7 or sometimes full LEDs but I never see the source, and most of the time it doesn't "J" the signals out. I wish mine would J them out more consistantly if they're crap signals. I have a 3.819, do any of you guys think upgrading it will help fix this? I've yet to update only because mine doesn't ghost, and I didn't want to take the chance of it returning with that problem.

Many people confuse the "J" option with the "Junk filter"

J on the V1 programming menu is in fact the POP radar option.

The Junk filter against false Ka alerts is option # 6.

While I'm at it, with V1.8 3.872, if you look at the programming chart, there is no option "I" to disable the self test on the V1.

Also, there is a new option "U" with a line above it, which is after the regular "U" (For Euro mode)

The new option is for European X-band, I'm guessing it's for some special frequence for X-band used in Europe.
