Using the stock visor/mount and a little imagination. Poor camera phone pic but you get the idea.

very nice was the stock windshield mount not working in your truck>\?
The stock one wont allow me to adjust the V1 level on the flat semi winshield. It points the V1 at the hood nose down and doesnt have enough adjustment. Works fine in the sunroof. I also wanted to have a sturdy mount with alot of adjustment for my pickup.
Was that a camera mount before you messed around with it?
it started as this, a poorly designed rd mount, which was worthless cause it blocks the RD.
Then pic 2 is my modification
Pic 3 without the STI
Then I added the V1 visor mount to pic 3.
For the Belscort units I bent the clip in pic 3 to hold the RD from shaking on the mount.

now i see what you did, good install......I liked the idea...
There is a good mount you can get for the rear-view mirror if you're interested. It puts the detector in the middle of the windshield which I know many here will say is too low... but I've had good results with it.
This one works great behind the rear view. All of the mount goes behind the rear view, leaving the V1 exposed just below the rear view mirror. Simular to the rear view mirror clamp style mounts.
