From ka alert to J?

This morning on my way to work, as i was on the on ramp i glanced behind me and saw noticed a LEO parked under the freeway(I20) bridge. Then i received an I/O ka... My V1 (doing it's job as usual) alerted me but then went from alert mode to a flashing 'J'. Is that normal? What does that mean?

Unfortunately, this has happened before with a V1. There have some cases where a V1 has allegedly "J-out" a LEO. The J means the V1 rejected a Ka signal coming from a crappy RD close by. This means there might have been another RD user near you. We need more details though about your incident. Did you receive the Ka alert as soon as you were in sight of the LEO? Also, were there any other cars around?

Yes, i did receive the Ka as soon as i was in the LEO's sight...

As i was merging on to the highway, there were 5-7 other cars around me...

To be honest, I can't give a definite answer as to whether your V1 rejected a siganl coming from the LEO or from another RD. Too many variables. The LEO might've been shooting laser or another RD user was nearby or the LEO wasn't running anything and was just a chase car working with another LEO. I would monitor your V1 a little bit more closely though and take J outs seriously for awhile. Have you run into I/O before in your area?
