V1 and Ka Guard OFF

From what I understood what I read on the manual that when the Ka gurad is on, it filters out junk ka band right. So I taught about turning it off, Iam not sure if Iam going to get more ka band false, but would this give it a little increase on range with I/O shots since its not filtering anything and looking for any kind of Ka band.

Highly possible as far as increasing range. In fact it may work well with QT. Downside is, you get increase false alert.

well thanks Iam going to turn it off and see it I see any increase in range and if I get any Ka band falses.

This was on Sunday with POP and Ka guard off. The black accord had an 8500. I could only pick it up with the rear antenna from with a maximum distance of 200ft away. Cheap cellphone vid quality.

My advice would be not to turn it off and keep POP off. I would rather know that when Ka goes off it is an LEO, rather than pick up a few extra feet plus all junk detectors.

I have been running my V1 3.813 with Ka guard off and getting insane results. I tried this with my 3.872 but could not tolerate the falses
