I really love my 9500ix and just bought a 2nd one (still well under the 30 days).
But with the new GOL Testing coming (and some heavy hints) I could not stand it any more.
So I ordered a V1.
I have purchased a V1 many years ago, but it sounds like it has much improved.
The Laser and Quick Trigger is my biggest concern not the 20-30% difference in range sensitivity.
I really really wish V1 would add a GPS. It does work, it's not a gimmick, it's not perfect. But with some slight risk it eliminates 99% of the falses so you give it full attention when it does go off. But you can't have V1 features and Escort features in one unit. So I'm torn.
I respect both detectors and anyone who chooses either.
My wife (passenger) is a big factor and I can't stand her whining about the detector going off all the time. The 9500ix solves that issue.
We'll see how it all goes.
Tips on maximizing quietness on V1 would be appreciated and I have no intention of touching the unit for different driving conditions (i.e. City vs Highway). I'm willing to take some risk for quietness.
I'm not an agressive driver. It's those back country roads that are posted 30mph that feel fine at 45mph that I get burned on and worry about the most.
I've never had a ticket on the highway in 34 years of driving because I usually stick with the traffic speeds. Always back country roads.
Thanks for any tips.
