V1 tests with option 6 (Ka guard) on and off. (thanks cyberblob55)
Check out the reaction times with it on vs. off.
Obviously the trigger is pulled when you hear the 'static'.
I'm assuming that even with a Q/T and the Ka guard ON, the V1 will alert, but about 1 second later after the V1 filters the signal vs. instantaneously with Ka guard off. I am doubting that the V1 will have a further 'reach' with Ka guard off, just a 1 second alert advantage. If I'm wrong, please say so.
It seems like most Q/T testing is done with the Ka guard ON, so it would stand to reason that the V1 just takes a second to give you the news vs. all the unnecessary falses with the guard off for a 1 second advantage.
