Excellent Video! This does prove that reaction times are quicker on the V1 to Quick Triggers in the POP frequencies with POP turned on.
With POP on the 24.150 and 33.8 POP frequencies are checked (5) times during a Standard Sweep of the K and Ka bands. V1 calls it Interleaved sweep.
Now..........we need someone to prove the other theory. That the V1 has better reaction times to QTs on non-POP frequencies (10.525, 34.7 and 35.5) with POP off. With Interleaved Sweep turned off, the primary sweep of the K and Ka bands is NOT interupted (5) times for the mini POP sweeps. So reaction times to non-pop radar frequencies should be quicker with POP off.

But you said you wanted to pick up reflections to simulate real world conditions. That's cool. But I would have like to have seen a shot missed by V1 with Pop on when no car was going by to show you were indeed reading reflections.
Otherwise having the gun 8 inches away from V1 may have overloaded it with Pop on or Off and the detector going off with pop on and not going off with pop off may have been a side effect of being overloaded.
It is certainly a good data point what you did, but you want to eliminate anything that could invalidate the test.
