    Default Keeping V1, returning 9500ix

Tested both for a month. Very tough choice. Love the features of the 9500ix.

9500 is like a Cadillac, V1 is like a pinto. But the pinto has an engine that runs like a champ while the Cadillac has engine problems that may or may not ever be fixed.

I will say I think V1 needs to pull their head out of their a$$ and start to innovate their product. If Escort ever fixes the QT problem I will be going back. Until then, I don't want to wonder "if" I was hit with QT when a cop goes by with no alert. V1 it is for now.

Here is a pic the V1 zombies will LOVE Borrowed it from MyEscort8MyV1 on the Escort Forum.

I've always thought of it as:

9500 = Lexus IS-F performance with heated seats and self adjusting headlights.

V1=Indy Car - No a/c, heated seats(well maybe) and self adjusting headlights.

Features that are great on the 9500ix that V1 could use (I think, don't know about patents)

    Autovolume
    Automute
    Voice Alerts
User friendly interface, 9500 is very easy to switch options on. With the V1 you have to have a printout to figure out how to change the settings. Sure this is easier with time, but but pita for newbies.

If they can't do voice alerts because of patents (whistler does so I don't think this is why) how about different colors for the different bands. I know it has different sounds, but that it isn't sufficient, I've had it for a month and can't tell from the beeps what band it is.

Filtering options like the Whistler uses would be great as well. Escort doesn't have this option either....

I won't get into GPS because I know Escort has a patent on that, BUT V1 shouldn't have let that happen. They could have been innovative and incorporated this first. But V1 got lazy, they have the arrow patent and that's great, but they could do so much more.

V1's mount is 10 times better as well. Escorts mount sucks a$$ and damn ridicules for RD's that cost half a grand.

The V1 is ugly as hell as well, but really as long as it works that is last on the list of improvements.

V1 could do a lot. And if they did I'm sure many would jump on it.

    Frequency display would be nice.
I do like voice, but not required.
Colored lights on main unit and concealed display would be nice.
Speed sensitive alerts (in the spirit of k automute, like if I'm under 20mph only do muted alerts, be great while sitting at traffic light with 3 false bogeys).
    Automute on any band
Allow more than 30 second automute (including infinite)
Allow some filter options on laser
    Locking out specific frequencies.

I have to agree , V1 is the Daddy of all the RD's and only thing that i think they [VR] (IF) want to work on is the Stealth technology and research on the pricing specially for the people who would like to buy them but its a pricey for them ( inother words they cant afford )

" The amount of Save you get through V1 eventually pays off in the end"

I am the proud owner of V1 and STI but i only trust with STI when my hands are tied and am traveling through RDD's state
