Default V1 Laseralert readout of signal?

    Hi,

does anybody have the chance to get the hold of an signal analyzer? I need to read out the signal that the V1 is giving out if a laseralert is displayed. I guess it's easy to get it via the phone plug to connect the consealed display. But I don't have access to an signal analyzer. Can somebody help out?

jimbonzzz can help you out. He made a program for your computer so the signals display on the screen.

    My software is available here:
    http://www.kc8unj.com/radar/

Basically the V1 sends out messages to the remote display, and one of the bits in the data stream goes high for laser. I DO have access to a logic analyzer, but I didn't use it with the V1 to develop my software.

What is it exactly you are trying to do?

What do you want to control? A home-made jammer perhaps? Or the brake pedal maybe? Btw, how good is the LT400? Considering ordering one.

If you are doing it on a small scale, or for experimenting, by far the easiest way would be just to interface with the remote display LED. Or if you would like, I could modify a version of my software to set DTR high during a laser alert, and you could connect to a circuit or relay to control your device.

Otherwise, if you are doing it on a large scale, for a product you are developing, I would be happy to offer my professional design services  I'm confident I could pick the data off with a PIC microcontroller...

In my software I just adjusted the baud rate so that each bit could be received, the bit for laser is in the 8th byte of the data message, bit two (XXXX X1XX). I don't know if this would help you or not...
