On the way to work, on the same road I posted the speed trap on last week, I got behind a local LEO headed the same direction as me. There was a truck between me and the LEO. Shortly after my V1 started sounding K band ahead, not full strength (maybe 5-6 LEDs), then it ramped down, then back up, then the bogey counter ticked up to 2 and it went full-strength (solid brap tone), then back to 1, then it ramped down.
What the V1 was telling me: The LEO was IOing oncoming traffic with his front antenna, facing away from me. Then he switched to the rear antenna, causing the full-strength 2nd bogey (the first hadn't fully ramped down yet). Then he switched back to the front antenna.
With years of RD experience, much of them with a V1, you get to know what it's telling you, and I can (almost) always tell what the LEO is up to, which antenna he's using, etc.
V1 is a great situational awareness tool.
