I just received my remote display for my V1 today. (new from VR) When I plug it in nothing happens. My V1 is not hardwired so I am using the lighter plug adapter. I have the V1 plugged into the main line from the plug and the conceled display plugged into the other one. The V1 does nothing different (stayes on w/ lights on) when I plug the conceled display in and there is no power going to the conceled display. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?? Is there a fuse inside the conceled display that may need changed?

    Thanks in advance
    Nate

Did you try a different cable? It might be a damaged plug on the phone cable.

Yeah, I tried different cables. Still no luck getting power to the display. Because it is not hardwired, the only other thing I can think of is a problem with the cig lighter adapter accesory port. The fuse is good because the V1 powers up. Any other ideas?

If you can, try it with the hardwire cord that came with the V1.
If it works with the hardwire cord, your cigarrette lighter adapter probably has a problem. If it doesn't work with the hardwire cord, the remote display probably has a problem.
Or just call Valentine Research and tell them what's up....

Good idea, I am going out to see if it will work with the hardwire kit.

    Thanks,

I hooked up the hardwire kit and it is still not working! Oh well, I will give valentine a call tomorrow to see what they say. At least my V1 is hard wired now.

    Thanks

Are you using the cords that came with the V1 and/or remote display?

If you used regular phone cords, make sure they're 2-line cords (ones with all 4 pins connected). The 2 pin single-line cords won't allow the remote display to work.

    BINGO!

I called Valentine this morning and we figured this out. I already knew I needed the 4 pin cord, so I checked and made sure the cord from the accesory port to the display was a 4 pin, but didn't realize that the main cord to the detector was only a single-line cord! When thinking about how it works, I feel stupid for not checking. Oh well, at least I got the V1 hardwired now.

    Thanks
