Default V1 Issue with small "L" mode ?

I went out today like a geek with my video camera to record some of my findings with my V1 today. I came across something kinda weird....

I was in Small "L" mode and came across a county sherriff on K band. It showed up real quick and as I went by him, the bogie counter clicked up to 2, and then the arrows were not correct.

This is the first time I tried the Small "L" mode, so I am wondering what happened.....

    Any comments on my findings?

The logic modes only alert real radar sorces, screens out most falses.

Its hard to say what happened, something wasnt right, if you passed the cop it should have gone from front, side then rear, and if you encountered another bogey which you did it should have still had the rear lit while flashing the front arrow to say thats more of a threat.

It could be because you were letting the computer decide what the radar may be a false or a trap!

It was a weird one. That area is real "quiet" in regards to false radar alerts. However there was alot of traffic so the radar could have been bouncing around giving off the false of being in front...?

The only reason I was trying the "L modes" is that I'm trying to have the X-Band be muted and all other Bands be "normal". I "believe" there is no X-Band in Maine - maybe some small towns? But I need the alerts mainly on the highway and there it's K, KA, Laser and aircraft.

I don't get alot of falses on K (compared to X) but I'm too chicken to turn off X altogether....

wow that was weird, never seen anything like it, i know even if the radar was to deflect to other cars the arrows would eventually catch up which they never did? does this happen alot, its definately some bug you found. send that video to mike along with ur serial number and see what they say!

At the beggining of the tape the audio came on before the visual.
At the end signal stopped when the audio stopped, the arrows stayed lit for a bit after the signal stopped. So the visual is somewhat out of phase with the signal, if his radar would have stayed on a bit longer your detector would have switched over to the rear.

So the question is why is the visual lagging the audio alert?

In regards to the audio/visual alerts being out-of-sync, I was in the process of unplugging my concealed display and the audio had just started....

The LEO was the 2nd to the last car in the video (right when it clicked to 2)and from what I gathered was that he was just driving with it on....since I've seen him a couple other times driving by me with it on...

Maybe I shouldn't have unplugged my concealed display without shutting off the V1 first? :?:

Yeah, something is really wrong. There wasn't even a "pilot" light showing little "L" until after the alert, V1 was completely blank before that! So, unless you had a remote display that you unplugged during the video, there might be a problem with the detector.

Yup, I was unplugging my concealed display that's why the audio started before you saw anything on the V1....

I went out again today trying the "L Modes" and have some interesting results.

I find that the arrows are not always correct in either "L mode". When I found a strong X band sign (in front of me) in L mode, the arrows would show it to the side. I would switch it to A mode and the arrows would switch to front. I could switch back to the L mode and the arrows would go back to the side. I just wish I had my video camera this time...

Anyone see similar results in any of the L modes? I guess a call to Mr. V is in order?

this is from the v1 manual

Remember, too, that radar beams are easily reflected.
Buildings, overhead signs and passing traffic are all
good reflectors. When you have a strong signal from one
direction, donít be surprised if the Radar Locator shows
brief flickers from another direction also as you drive
    by reflectors...

so this could also cause arrows to false!
