Default V1 vs. Redflex photo enforcement

Does V1 give you warning of redflex photo enforcement, or would you be better off with a GPS-based detector like 9500ix. Need something for when I am driving rental car in Arizona.

If I'm thinking of the right video, the warning isn't sufficient.

This mobile K ban radar will give all top end detector a hard time. the 9500ix will only alert to fix speed camera's. So unless some body's programmed the known location(s) of the mobile camera's for the ix. I would go the V1 with POP on.

When I was in Arizona in February my V1 picked up the vans just fine. I was surprised at how well it did. It was a lot better than I was lead to believe.

You will not get much warning at all on these photo vans that Redflex has today, something I did notice is if you turn your V1 on its side it picks up the van x3 distance. I think this was covered in the last GOL test, wish I could leave it that way around town, but Im sure it would drive you nuts from the increase in the false alerts.

sadly none of the top detectors do well against the redflex k.
have tested my V1 and the sti and both are the same .Vertical did not seem to make much differnce for them either.
Sadly just have to keep your eyes open

The short answer is no. The V-1 will not alert in time.

I augment my V-1 with a Trapster database loaded into my Garmin portable GPS. It works like magic!

That's the best of both worlds. You get the benefits of V-1s situational awareness arrows plus the Trapster database can be updated FAR more often than the 9500ix.

I have been using trapster but I find it generates tons of false alerts because it alerts based on distance to the camera as opposed to a combination of distance and the camera being on the same road in the same direction. So recently i was recently in phoenix, driving on 16th street, and as I crossed the interstate i got a camera warning even though the camera was on the interstate and i was on a different road.

To avoid this issue you need a device like the C50. 9500ix also works quite well, but c50 is def better. But c50+V1 is bulky for a travel solution - carrying around 2 devices. plus more expensive.

    V1 and C50 is $498. 9500xi is $510 w/1year subcription?

If you want Redflex detection you should mount your detector verticle

Ot just pay attention to the signs that say speed camera ahead

    Spoiler: show
