    Default Value/Rarity of 3.813?

I've got the chance to buy a 3.813 V1, based on everything I've read it sounds like this is the V1 to have so I'm considering it. Current value of a 3.813 is still in the 250-300 range according to the used V1 thread, is that still correct?

Also if I pass this up how rare are the 3.813's, are they common or was that a short run version of software? Not sure what I'm going to do, got a Redline on order and I'm not impressed at all with the range of my 3.864 (9500ix could beat it), but if the 3.813 has more range (after a tune up, of course), that might satisfy me (and allow the 3.864 to transfer to the 9500ci car to get arrows).

Go for it. 3.813s aren't loosing their value. I got mine for 275 plus a tune-up. Then consider having your 3.864 V1 upgraded to 3.872. My 3.812 owns my 9500ix in detection.

The 813 is rare and will beat your 864 and ix after a tune up. I would buy it as long at the cost of it plus $45 does not exceed $400.

The whole 3.813 thing is bull$hit.

Does it dominate on all bands and all frequencies? NO.
It's a collecters item because it's the most recent version that lacks POP.

Manufacturers tolerance should produce hot units in every version.

Think about it: If 3.813 really was the hottest version because of the software, don't you think VR would have duplicated it or reverted back to that software by now? If POP is the reason reception isn't as good, wouldn't VR just make newer units behave as the 3.813 did? Have an override when POP is disabled that reverts to the exact same software version as the 3.813? Did the horns change to a crappier version for 3.816 and higher revisions?? Don't think so.

3.872 is the best thing going, unless you believe VR gave up on improvements back in January of 2004.

OK, I'm gonna duck for cover now because I know the cavalry's coming.....

I hope you're wrong. I'll compare it to my 3.864, but if you're right and its no better, back to Ebay it will go because my 3.864 is no better than M4 based Escort products, and the STi driver beats it handlily, and we won't even bring up the spanking that the 9500ci gives it.

I don't expect the 3.813 to have anything for the 9500ci, but I do expect it to have better range than the STi Driver, but time will tell.

My 812 blows away both of my 858's and is only slightly behind my 9500ci. If I could get an 813 for 300 or less I would go for it.

My 3.812 is definitely better than my 3.864 was on 34.7, but I think my 3.864 was better than my 3.812 on 35.5.

Any idea how 8.872 is on 35.5 compared to other versions?

Didn't run it long enough to get any feel for it.
