    Default V1 Kill Switch?

For those of you who have added a kill switch for your V1 where did you tap in, directly to the power line? I want to locate one by the concealed display, is there any way to do it from there or do I need to run back to the 12v line to the main unit?

    Chris.

the CD cable [and the accessory side of the power module] is data only.

a kill switch is best located between the power module and the fuse panel(or add-a-circuit)

Thanks, not what I really wanted confirming but it isn't a great suprise. I suppose that if I wanted it by the CD I could use the two spare cores in the cable maybe to run back to a more central point or just locate it elsewhere.

    My kill switch:

Used add-a-fuse to tap into one of the rear P/W circuits.

There are lots of neat places, I was thinking of reusing the on/off for an autodimming mirror with the CD in the mirror too, hence why it would have been convenient to share the same cable.

Why do you use a kill switch? RDs are legal in Nebraska and every state remotely close to it.

Wasn't planning on using a p/w circuit when I started the install but the open slot I tried in the fuse box didn't work, so had to pick a different fuse. Just a coincidence the p/w switch working as a kill switch for me.

I put in a 6 way fused connector for all my stuff. I installed switches on the dash. I have some pics in my install. I would never use the inline connectors or add a fuse. I use soldered and shrink wrap for all my stuff. If you plan on adding alot of stuff it is the only way to go for me.

Nice. The Ranger dash has no spare switches or space for a switch. I'm considering the steering column

Since we are on the subject, what is the easiest way to add inline on/off switch?

Mentioned earlier add it to the direct wire itself right?

Also, anyone have a diagram of the switch and where to wire it to?
