    Default Very quiet V1 today

Hey guys, I have been using a V1 for the last couple of months, and it showed itself to be very sensitive to signals and an excellent detector. I usually pass by a CVS store twice a day, and it always goes off because of the automatic doors. The arrows pinpoint it perfectly.

However today, it never alerted me to it. Or to any other signal along the way. Turned off the detector when I reached my destination. On the trip home, it alerted me to the CVS store just like normal.

That kinda worries me. I dont see why it would be quiet all of a sudden. Kinda wondering if it might have malfunctioned? Has anyone had this happen to them?

Is your V1 hardwired in your car? Does it get turned off everytime you turn off the car?

I've heard of V1s "locking up" if left on for days at a time. Power-cycling it brings it back to life.

Also, the surge when you start the car isn't good for the electronics in the V1. Wiring into an accessory circuit that shuts off when the ignition is off or when cranking the engine over is a good idea.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

No it is not hardwired. I very rarely leave it on and if it is off, i normally start the car, and then turn on the V1.

It does act like it locked up. If I hadnt been in a rush I would have experimented with it a bit. i.e. park right in front of CVS

How early did you pass the CVS, say before they opened?

I pass a CVS on my way to work and it never goes off, but on the way home then it goes off.

It was around 11am so they were def open. Plus I passed 5 cops, and find it had to believe that none of them had their radar on. Usually I will find a couple that just leave it on all the time. Plus I usually get alerted to an X band signal along my journey. Nothing today until I restarted the V1.

I will just have to keep an eye on it to see if it happens again. It may all just be a coincidence(hopefully).

If my V1 failed to alert me to every CVS in town I would be worried, I would do another run and if it doesn't alert send it in.

I'll assume the V1 is only a couple of months old too? If you are doubting it's performance, for the piece of mind I would send it back in to VR to have it checked out.

I had mine hardwired for a year and no problems. Most of the time I have it turned off and power it on after I turn on my car.
