Default Visor mount vs windshield mount?

Is there any loss in range from using the visor mount against the windshield mount? I had to move my V1 from the windshield to the visor because the sun was beating it. The sun here in Puerto Rico is rough in my detector and it was always really warm when eer touch the V1.

It will work better on the Visor. You are smart to take it out of the sun.

Wish it was that warm here

I have mine mounted high peeking out of a 5% tint strip and it still gets really hot. I think its just normal operating temperature. Even at night its quiet warm after a 40 minute trip.

You just have to rub it in don't you. Haven't seen sun in over a week.

Oh no, not at all. It's just that I dont want to have my V1 sitting under a 95 F + sun all day while driving. I wanted to protect my best buddy.

The grass is always greener. Most of the time in Texas the heat is pretty awful.

I have the visor mount and it's great.

The windshield is free and clear, the setup is very very stealthy.

I do not see any decrease in detection range, it even works well with laser.

    * The key for getting the most out of a visor mount IMO is:

    1. Concealed display.

    2. Hardwiring your detector.

This is good to know. I sometimes switch the V1 to a different car, and it would be much easier to use the visor mount in the other car for switching back and forth. I've been hesitant to use it so far.

I dont see any problem with a visor mount.

and i feel like i have moved to seattle in my sleep. It just keeps raining. It seems like it rains every day here. Walking to and from class sucks!

Isn't it terrible? I feel like I'm in London or Seattle. I'm tired of changing clothes after every time I go outside.
