Default Radar won't power after LEO encounter.....

    Tonight,
I was driving around with my V1 looking for LEO to test my radar. I drove downtown and there was a bunch of LEO everywhere blocking the road becuase serveral accident took place.

The werid thing was as i trying to get out of downtown because it was too crowded, i noticed that my V1 was too quite, I looked at it and my V1 didn't have any power.. I tried turning it on and off...nothing..
After i left downtown about 2 miles, i decided to turn my radar back on and it worked fine then.

What do you guys think cause my radar to power off?

this can be why your v1 is acting faulty, its not on or powered up all the way. either push the cig adapter in, get it hard wired, and check the connections either way!

DUDE! You will need to isolate the problem. Is it the front antenna reception? Are my cables faulty......12 volt adapter?

I will drive around with it some more and see if it happenes again...could the LEO have some kind of radar blocker or something?

i would start by checking your wires. i had a problem once with a loose power wire. they seemed fine, but suddenly my V1 wasn't on, or sometimes it would power back up for no reason. i quickly fixed the problem but nonetheless, if you can get good power, than it'll be time to look at other possible problems. also check the phone plugs to make sure they are all locked in tight.

i think qiute a few problems with detectors have occured due to faulty/loose wiring. Undervoltage can do strange things.

hopefully this will solve your problem.

i would have to say no to the radar blocking stuff also.

also, a quick test for the front antenna issue would be to find a constant source, drive by with the V1, then turn it around and hold it in the same spot and watch the arrows and strength meter. this may show whether or not the rear arrow is more "dominant" than the front.
maybe in an attempt to fix the ghost issue, they tried to re-balance the front to rear strength ratio and screwed it up. :?: who knows.

I'll try that today, there's a constant K band at this supermarket
As to my V! not powering on, it worked again after i left the downtown area.

that makes me think it is/was a loose power wire somewhere. sometimes mine wouldn't power back up until i kicked the area where the wires were, or driving for a while "bumped" the wires enough for a connection.

i would still recommend to re-check the wiring, so it doesn't happen again and you get nailed. when i had the wiring problem, everything seemed tight, but just wiggling them a certain way was just enough to cause it to lose power.

be sure to let us know how the supermarket test goes.

also if you or someone else can test this against a constant ka source that would be good too, to see if different bands act differently. maybe even change option 6 against the ka source just to rule out one possible software glitch.

    good luck.

It's obviously the infamous front antenna problem causing a loss of power. It's well documented...
