In the Atlanta area, they are now using State Police on motorcycles to catch speeders. 20 of them locally. The motorcycles have radar that alerts them for vehicles in front and to the rear. DSR 2X I suppose...or are there others?
One of the LEO's interviewed stated that they're not seen in the rear view mirror as they can come up quickly from behind to catch a speeder. GOTTA LOVE THE REAR ANTENNA OF THE V1 TO SEE IT FIRST!
They said the reason for the boost in enforcement is due to TRAFFIC CONGESTION.
What in the he!! does that mean? If there's congestion, where and when does the speeding take place if everybody is stuck behind another bumper?
One 8 hour shift is averaging 53 citations. I don't know whether it's per man or the entire 20 of them. If it's ALL of them, it would be less than 3 each and I can't imagine it unless there's a lot of time spent in Dunkin' Donuts.
Later in the article it states that the ticket money comes all back to THEM unless written at certain locations and they're financially self sufficient and want to GROW. (the REAL reason why they're doing it...not congestion)
It looks like they also use laser from the picture, which means a laser jammer is a MUST HAVE.
