Default My 2 week old V1 died.

    Hey guys
My V1 crapped on me tonight. It all of a sudden wasn't power on anymore. I had it hardwire to the car and it wouldn't power on, then i try the cig adapter, still no power. Then i tried it in a different car, still no power.
This unit is only 2 weeks old and this is the 2nd time it happened.
    I'll request for a new unit and if i can't get that, i'll ask for a refund . =(
    Maybe it's a lemon?

Mike V will take care of you if there is a problem. You can check a few things here... http://www.valentine1.com/moreinfo/p...ng_pg27-28.pdf

Remember there is a fuse in the lighter adapter...

Hey, yeah u were right, the fuse was blown on both the cig adapter and the hardwire fuse. Kinda strange isn't it?

Another question. Does the conceal box have autodimming becuase my display would be bright and then dark and sometime flicker..

Whoa, I just went outside to test my V1 again and this time it didn't come on. This is after replacing it with the new fuse... What is going on with this....

ryceu, your car has electrical problems. the v1 is not getting continuous power, hence the bright then dark and flicking sometimes. also the fact that both the hardwire and the cig lighter fuse is blown. electrical surges and complete power loss momentarily,,repeatedly can blow the fuses. its not the v1 its your cars! maybe u need a new battery? im no car whiz so i cant tell you how to fix it but i know thats got to be your problem (electrical\\power with the car)...

If you made your own power cord with RJ11 connectors and you reversed the plug at one end the fuse will blow immediately.
You have a short somewhere if you can't find it you need a friend or stereo shop to help you.

Replace the blown fuse and try the V1 in another car and see what happens.

You may have issues in your electrical system. When I had my '96 Grand Prix, the V1 would power off and on again when I applied the brakes! Two weeks later my alternator died completely. The A/C died, the fan quit, then the transmission wouldn't shift right (electronically controlled), then when I got home the car died! Good thing the car was still under warranty because replacing the alternator in the GTP is a huge PITA!

Once the alternator was replaced, everything worked fine.

I used the hardwire wire that came with the V1.
I just installed a after market cd player over my stock one monday, cuz that be draining all my power and not letting the V1 have enough?

How about the RJ11 connectors on direct wire plug could one be in the wrong slot?
