any one try both??
any one try both??
Yeah actually I have. 9500ix is way is quieter and easier to update. However, the V1 may be a lot nosier, but I definitely feel a lot safer with it. The range on the V1 is outstanding I pick up KA/K bands from over a 1 1/2 mile away. The reason I got rid of my 9500xi was because it locked out an actual LEO
Man I need to start utilizing these forums more lol.
I own both, and have even posted videos testing both against a K-band speed sign.
The ix is about 200 dollars worth of radar detection and 300 dollars worth of GPS features. (Camera locations and false alarm lock-outs)
The V1 is 400 dollars worth of radar detection.
The 9500ix is great when silence is more important than alert range/response, (like in my work vehicle) but the V1 is simply better at detecting radar.
Here is video of my test...

I own two 9500ixs and a V1. I prefer the 9500ix over the V1, because I live in LA, which might be the false alert capitol of the world! I have never had any problems with TrueLock, but I don't have very much K band around either.
I own both. My V1 is more sensitive. My 9500ix has more useful features. All in all, I prefer my V1 slightly over my 9500ix.
I've used both, and they both have their advantages and weaknesses.
If you run a lot of interstate or live in a rural area the V1 wins by a mile. If you live in a metro area and knowing where every door opener and alarm system is along your route bothers you then the ix is your detector.
When comparing raw detection range the V1 wins, but in my experience not by much. If QT and IO are prevalent in your area then again I think the V1 is the better choice.
Bottom line is both are great detectors and which ever works best for your situation is the one to pick.

Escort 9500 ix (Cadillac SRX)
I agree the V1 is the general winner especially for highway. However i had a GPS speed trap save on the highway that a V1 wouldn’t of saved me from.
So in the end the suggestion all would agree with is try them both then decide. Both companies have a 30 day trial.
I expect to see my new 9500ix today. I wasn't happy with all the false alerts that I was getting with the Valentine 1.
I don't speed that much so I need something that will remind me to slow down not something that beeps at every door opener I pass. Who speeds in the city anyway?
I think any one getting a new or their first detector should take the false alarms by the V1 into account. None of these detectors are guaranteed to save you from getting caught by radar but I can do without all the noise.
I like the idea of:
Safety Camera Database - (pre-loaded with thousands of safety camera locations, including red light and fixed position speed cameras, located throughout North America)
GPS-Powered
Mark Location Features
Auto Learn Feature
360-Degree Radar and Laser Detection
IMHO ... The GPS is going to be the thing of the future.
BTW: Read My Valentine Thread
Merry Christmas
