Default I want to here about your V1 falses

So you have your fancy arrows and long range detection, you got it all don't you, including what is widely known as V1 bane, false alerts. I would like to know, if possible to discribe, your experiences and your "understanding" or "feel" for the V1. For example my Bel falses very little, but I have a pretty good feel as to knowing the alert to be flase do to learned tell tell signs, such as my Bel only alerts with weak signal strength 2-3, and only lasts for a brief second (+/- 5 sec or so). Furthure more when on a road trip, on the highway (FLorida turnpike 500 miles), average flase alert 1 or 2 times, sometimes none. I am sure everyone has grown a "feel" for their detectors, and I would like to listen to your experiences and try and get a understanding how the V1 reacts when falsing. A users discription of the V1 performance is one of great sensitivity/distance great for highway travel, but hindered performance from metropolitan area from frequent flasing. So whats your experiences, probably one of the best ways to judge a detector is to know and understand a detectors weaknesses as all detectors have.

    Thanks!

Your avatar looks like a 985. If your claiming that your 985 doesn't FALSE especially on X and K band, then my questions are..........
    1) What are you Smokin :?:
    2) Can I buy some.....

my V-1 falses just as much as my old bel vector 970. Door openers and motin sensors will alert ANY detector. I don't understand how a detector filters out these 'falses' because they operate on the same bands as cops do.

    P.S. its HEAR not HERE

The Valentine 1 for me is mostly used for highway use. On highway 99 there are only a couple of falses (from where I travel back and forth to school). I don't know about you, but I speed more on highway than in city limits (by at least 15miles). So for highway use, the v1 is the best due to the range and the arrows (with the best laser detection from the CHP as well). As for the falses, as long as you know the city that your in and where the grocerie stores are at, you know which ones are false. Plus, you can just turn off X (depending on where you live, in CA.. I havn't ever gotten a real X band alert). "Well what about the garage doors?" Well, if X is used in your area and all of a sudden you have 4 X band alerts but the strength is really high, 3 must be a bogey and that last one is real. Now, with K band, I get falses on this too (which is bad becuase the local PD uses K) but once again, if theres a weak K alert, its just the local Rite Aid which uses K in there doors.

All in all, I don't mind the falses. I rather get a lot of falses with GREAT RANGE than little false with less range.

I knew I would get some crap for posting.

From the few comments already made, I am under the continued impression that the V1 false is not substantially worse, and would be worth the increased in detection range, giving me a few extra seconds. I think this qoute from another thread sums it up best in regards the the V1 enchantment

The V1 false becuase it has better range than any other detector. The other company "filter" the false cause the range of the detection to decrease. If you put the V1 in big L mode, and do some adjusting. You'll find the false decrease a lot and still have the good range.

Any good sensitive detector will tend to false more if the signals are not identified or recognized as non police radar. Door openers working on the exact same frequencies can not be identified as non police radar. A highly sensitive radar detector will sound off.

Does this include the Whistler brand and models? Whistlers are known to false alot.
How about the passport 8500 or the Bel RX-65 both of these are made now by the same company as Escort bought out BEL. Do these 2 other top detectors false alot?
