    Default noobie question

Hey guys.. am about to invest in a new V1, therefore checking authenticity.
The last 3 digits are 018 (does that sound right for a new V1) and on the V1 site it indicates this:

V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.8—POP2 with Euro Mode. This is our latest and best performer on both radar and laser.

Upgrade Recommendation: You already have our best

Being new should it not have the 3.872 indicated not the 1.8 or have I misinterpreted the meaning of the numbers.
Damn the V1 are expensive here in OZ.

    Pls help.
    Cheers

3.872 is the software version of the newest units.

Version 1.8 uses software from 3.812 to 3.872 depending on when it was manufactured.

If you want to know the software version you have to hold the knob in with the power off and turn it on with the knob pressed in. Hold the knob in until the lights come on then release and press the knob again.

Doesn't sound like you are buying a new V1 or you would not have to ask. A new one would be the 3.872 directly from Valentins. It must be used.

All V1 sold in Austarlia are from 'grey" suppliers as there are no authorised V1 dealers here and hence no "authorised" service centres. These suppliers get these from the US (I hope). The place I'm getting it from is a legit place but I wanted to make 100% sure.
