Default Valentine One Hardwire for Bel 995

My trusty V1 simply will not work in my son's Land Rover LR2 due to its heated windshield. Thus, I went out and bought a Bel 995. Can I use the hardwired rj-11 jack that had plugged into my V-1 and just plug it into my 995 or has VI flipped the power leads and/or placement on the rj 11 jack from the standard red (power) green (ground) on the jack. Thanks.

A cord that works on a V1 will work on a Bel, but...

If the V1 didn't work behind the heated windhsield, why did you think the 995 would?

I was told by someone who tried the V! without success and used his Bel with success. I hope he was right.

Why would a Bel 995 work when a v1 won't? Does the windshield have a metallic film, or just heating elements in the glass? It doesn't make sense to me. Does your V1 work OK in other cars?

I believe it is just hearing elements but I am not sure. The V1 works fine in other cars.

If the V1 doesn't work behind that windshield, the Bel 995 won't work either. The windshield apparently reduces the radar signal. The RD behind that windshield is completely irrelevant. You need a remotely mounted RD, like the Escort 9500ci or the Bel STi-R.

what i did find on my v1 when i use a bel / escort power cord I can't get into the v1 programming by holding the knob in while powering the unit up. other than that it will work fine. I use the hard wire from the v1 to power my bel and escort radar units....
