    Default Toll booth laser?

Everytime I go through a toll booth I pay then right when I start to go I always get a front laser false.

Does everyone get this and what is it from.

It happens at every toll booth I have been to. Which is a lot.

There is one of those orange LED "Slow down" signs in my area which causes the same exact issue.

It's probably some sort of an LED or like device transmitting at 904-905nm, same wavelength as laser.

This is a common occurrence in toll booths equipped with transponders (EZPass, etc.) The laser is shot from the roof of the plaza and is used to detect whether you're a car or a large truck or are pulling a trailer, so that the appropriate charge can be applied.

On the booths in NH, most windshield-mount detectors will alert to the booth. A detector mounted high (e.g. visor mount) usually won't alert, except for the V1.

When I have my sunroof open, my V1 will show a rear-arrow alert as well as the front.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

Yea they have EZpass at the tolls down here but I never use them. Today when I went through I was in the far right toll lane/booth and there was two EZpass booths all the way to the left and there were probably 10 booths inbetween.

I have my V1 mounted as high as I can get it but it still picks it up every single time I go through one. It doesnt bother me though because I know its going to do it. Just wanted to know why.

Thats interesting that they use laser to see if your pulling a trailer. I would have thought that they would have sensors in the road to see how many axles you had since thats how they charge you (by the axle).

I have never had a laser false from a toll booth area at all.

Once I was hit with laser from the front, but I was a decent distance away from the area.
