Default V1 settings for a TrueLock fan.

Ok, i orderd a new V1 that will be shipping to me Monday, hope UPS is fast.

I want to give the V1 a good chance to work for me, its been a long time since i used one. But in the end all i need is KA alerts, and real LEO k alerts, with use of the directional arrows.

My CI will be left with full sensitivity on all bands utilizing TrueLock so the V1 is just for confirmation and directional awareness. I want to be able to go from full sensitivity on the V1 to as much filtering as possible with a press of a button/switch.

So, what/how should i program it when i get it? 30 sec K band muting ect...

Please give me as much detail because im a lazy Belscort user that likes the RD to do everything easily and don't want to search for and learn it all on my own.
I need a tolerant V1 mentor to take me on.

    X off - 1 down

    K off - 2 down

    That's it.

Is there a way to go from k/ka off to full sensitivity with a button/lever press?

I want the V1 to go from full filtering to full sensitivity with a press of a button. If that doesn't allow me to turn off K band that's fine. I just want a simple way to go from some kind of filtering to full sensitivity.

K is used when i drive through NY.

    Try this:
    http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...h-newbies.html

Leave it in little "L" for K-band suppression and "a" mode for full K-band alert

You can tailor the K-Band automuting to your heart's desire using these instructions...

    Ask Mike - Report #3

However, I would recommend using the factory settings for at least the first week to get a feel for the V1 as it's been a while since you've had one. The 3.872 is probablly a much better balanced machine than the last one you had.

The mute function on the V1 is superb as it lets you set the volume of your muted alerts ........so for the first week at least, try to get by with manually muting the false alerts.

The only options I might recommend changing right off the bat are.......turning off X-Band and changing option A to the down arrow. Toggling option A will switch Bogey Lock tones from always reporting at full volume to reporting Bogey Lock tones at muted volume after you've hit the V1's mute button. This will keep the V1 from driving you crazy in town with the DEE-DEE-DOOTS blaring at full volume even after you've hit the mute button.

The only way you will approach TrueLock quietness is to kill K and X ... and it will still false laser all the time.

Why would you turn k band off? I thought k band was used in CT? Utilize your k band automuting on the V1. On the open road, use A mode. In a high k band sensor area, use the little L mode (logic mode) which will help keep the V1 to NOT annoy you so much.

I'm running it with my 9500ci so i really am only using it for its arrows and confirmation. However i would like it to be useful so i will most likely do that.

If i run it with factory settings initially i know i will smash it. But ill give it a try just to be tortured.

Definitely X band off, but because the 9500CI doesn't alert to "multiple frequency's detected" i think i want Bogey Lock tones?
