Cool NO X-Band on my V1 misses K Band?

I tried searching, but all my searchers were "too commong" or "too short" I guess search for "No X" is not too smart

I may need a physics lessons in microwave signals, but I am concerned with turning off X Band.

A Strong K band signal, over distance or reflection, may in fact "look" like X band, right?

So If I turn off X band, I miss a reflected and REAL K band signal?

Or am I making this up?

    Thanks!

    Your making it up.

Very unlikely to have any good high end RD like the V1 confuse K for X. Most good RD's break down each band in to specific frequencies so they even know when there is more than one signal running on a slightly different frequency but same band.

K band will never "look" like X band to a detector, no matter what it bounces off of.

Radio waves (which is all a radar signal is) don't change frequency when reflected (except *very* slightly when bouncing off a moving object--this is the Doppler effect that allows radar to measure your speed).

The V1 won't miss K alerts unless K is turned off or the V1 needs repair/tuning.

If X isn't used in your area, it's safe to turn it off.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

Whistlers report the wrong band somewhat frequently.

    Thanks!

I was thinking the bouncing would compress/decompress the radiowave based upon the cruiser's speed, and thus make the frequency change.

Now that I read your reply, it seems that a signal that moves near the speed of light shouldn't really be affected too much by a cruiser moving @ 55MPH.

    Have a great weekend!

The frequency might change by maybe 10 Hz or so when the radar bounces off of something, but X and K band are seperated by 13,625,000,000 Hz. No RD should mistake X and K band.
