    Default Official V1 ticket survey

I wanted to get a feel for how people get caught with the V1, so here is a pretty decent poll. I think I've covered most possible options.

This is like the SAT. Pick the answer that best fits you.

I see one response for <= 5mph over. How on earth do you get a ticket for 5 over? I don't mean the driver, I mean what cop would actually waste time writing that up?

Moravia: Small town at the south end of Owasco Lake in NYS.

30MPH and they ticket you for ANYTHING 3MPH or over (everytime)...
There are even a decent amount of people that get tickets for 2mph, yes 2mph aka 32MPH. Haven't really heard of many 1MPH violations as most radar units are effective to +/-1MPH.

The enforcement there is outlandish!

That's nuts. Last weekend I was doing 75 on the mass pike when I saw one of our finest taped to my bumper. I let him pass and he just went about his business like I wasn't even there.

How would a 2mph speeding ticket hold up in court? Wouldnt it be like reduced down to like a non-moving violation?

Yes it would!!!! I heard of a guy that got a ticket for 1mph over and went to fight it and was still given the ticket...He even spent money on a lawyer....If a town will pull you over at those stupid speeds. They have no tolerance to speeding and will prosecute you for 1mph over

    Default 5 Over

Mine was for 5 over ... lots of times, they'll write the ticket for less than the actual offense. In my case, I was going 78 in a 55 (23 over) where it went from X-Way to two-lane. I saw him first and had braked to 72 when he lit me up. He had me at 17 over, but only wrote it for 5 over.
