What do you all think of this?
For a "V2":
A squared off V1 with no controls or display. Just a black box with the antennae and electronics. The controls and display would be remote using the same remote display and sound/power, or just combine them into one unit. Mount the V1 in the usual way on the windshield, hardwired in the car, with the remote control/display somewhere else in the car. This basically, mimics what many of us are doing right now. Of course, the current V1 would still be offered for those that don't want to go through all this trouble. This has the advantage of a little more stealth. But, wait there's more to it.
It seems many in the BMW forum I read are mounting their V1 in the rear headrest. This is an excellent place for stealth reasons. A squared off V1 would fit a little better too. But, here is another idea that is key: since you lose laser alerting this way the "V2" would have plugs for the laser detectors that could be mounted outside the "V2" enclosure.
I know that the placement of the radar antennae must be precise in relation to each other to be able to pinpoint the bogey with some accuracy for the direction arrows. But it seems to me that laser only alerts from in front or behind. So, I feel that this relative positioning of the laser detectors is not important as it is for the radar antennae. Just make sure that the "front" detector faces front and "rear" one faces rear.
This doesn't sound like much of a change but it would be much more convenient for those of us who like to "stealth" mount their V1s.
Any other type of upgrade I can think of just seem like frills. A real voice vs. beeps and braps would be cool, but not needed. Colored lights: same thing. Frequency readout? Maybe. GPS speed so that it won't alert unless you're exceeding the limit would be nice but it would mean that the database of speed limits would need to be accurate and up-datable all the time. Too expensive in time and money IMO. Perhaps a user set lower limit would be good enough, but I just don't see this as enough justification for the GPS.
Any other thoughts?

Ok. Now it's 2325 times. I've been around a while but don't check here too often. I missed this. In any case, I want a new enclosure. The current one is too conspicuous. Maybe I'll just do this myself. Anybody have some billets of magnesium and a CNC machine I could use?
