To set this up, I'm currently driving to Orlando from near Seattle and stopped in San Jose to get my dad. We drove to Tucson on the 9th and stayed the night, and headed through New Mexico to Texas yesterday.
We got through El Paso on I-10 and into a 70 zone. I was cruising at about 80 and there was a white car behind me, a Nissan or something, and a big pickup truck up a bit in the right lane I was gaining on. V1 starts chirping Ka with a forward arrow and I slow to the psl, pull to the right behind the truck, and let the white car by with a "it's your ass, have fun!". I commented to my dad that I would love to see someone get pulled over by a cop I knew was around before I could see him.
Pulled back to the left lane to pass the truck cause it wasn't quite doing the psl. V1 signal grows and it had to have been at least 3 miles between when I got the first signal and passed him oncoming running C/O. I see him change lanes as I go by (and V1 arrow goes to the rear) to his left lane and then noticed his blinker stayed on.
It felt like Christmas watching him pull into the median and flick on the lights to turn back into eastbound lanes. I sped up to a few over to get past the truck and waited for him to come back by with cruise set right around the psl.
The white care was a good half mile up now and I was laughing the whole time it took for the Texas State Trooper to pass me and catch up with him and invite him to a roadside disco, then sang "payin a fine" (to the tune of stayin alive) until the party lights were out of sight.
Combine that with the less memorable/interesting save today and my V1 has paid for itself. Again.
I love my V1
