It would help to know more about the year and model as there is a wide range in prices for BMWs and the like especially if the owner did not purchase the vehicle new.
It was a blue bmw van
It looked kinda like this:

Your image is an SUV known as the X5 and I don't know the size or size engine in play but this looks like a first generation X. I drive an E70 version of the X5. This is not the most expensive BMW - especially if not purchased new or on a lease - and the costs of these vehicles go up with features that are not stock and not visible outside the vehicle.
Factors to consider include the average age of owners, their primary interests and so on. On the best online forum about E70s, there is only an occasional thread about a V1 much less the more sophisicated devices discussed on this board.
The V1 has served me well as only VASCAR marred a 20 year record but now I am adding RL to the lot despite proof of liabilities of this approach. Were it not for 2 3/4K trips each year, I might not pay much attention to RDs as most of my travel are international trips.

Some vehicles have a laser cruise control distance adjuster. In other words, it uses laser to adjust speed and distance while under cruise control. I think those sometimes will alert a V1.
