    Default RadarActive (V1-iPhone) FAQ

We created an FAQ page to answer most of the questions that have popped up regarding the RadarActive technology. However, we fully realize that this FAQ list is not nearly complete, and we ask for your help in making it better. Please post questions that have not been covered in our FAQ.

After 10 days, we'll raffle out a RadarActive trasceiver module amongst the contributors whose questions make it to the FAQ page! We will announce the winner on July 4th.

    Thanks in advance to everyone!

This is what's most important to me but it's probably a coming soon feature, can you use the app to auto-mute your V1 under a certain speed limit? Sky is the limit but just wondering if we could get a peek at what are the extra features planned for the app. Thanks.

Extra features planned for the near future:

    - ability to mark speed traps manually
radar detector triggered traps, red light cameras and speed cameras are already there
    - visual alerts on the screen as you approach the trap (some sort of animation of the alert that gets the attention)

    Other questions:

    - Regarding muting of V1 below a speed threshold:
this feature is on the table. it is problematic however, because it would possibly interfere with another important feature - ability to listen to music/audiobooks (since the v1-iphone communication is done through the mic/headphone port)

    - Android: on the table, on the roadmap, no date for release yet.

GPS and/or speed-based false alert suppression is one of the features on our to-do list. Thank you for the feedback, it helps us prioritize the features.

In fact, which scheme would everyone prefer?

    1) GPS-based?
A particular radar band would be muted in a geographical region, based on analysis of radar detector and user information (be it a parking lot, a shopping mall, intersection, section of the freeway, etc).

    2) Speed-based?
All, or some of the radar bands (X & K for example) would be muted below 25mph; no matter what.

i feel that speed based it much more fool-proof. you don't have to worry about getting a ticket below 25mph, where as if you pass a parking lot at 40 mph that has a cop in it, you're screwed.
