    Default 3.826 It's the FIX

Well I have finally decided after two weeks of testing and use of two V1's that I had upgraded to 3.826 the following:

3.826 is a WINNER!!!!! As far as I am conserned I would reccommend anyone who may be holding off for the upgrade to go ahead and get it done as this is a winner.

All known quirks have been fixed and the V1 is performing flawless. The bogey lock tone is fixed along with the "J" feature. Also the ghosting of a false Ka while getting a real strong K is no longer present. The only flaw I was unsure of was the same band K ghosting and I have now discovered that it is indeed fixed and I will explain why I thought I had this type of ghosting.
It turns out only one of the two units I have appeared to have ghosted on K band so with a little testing I find that the one that ghosted is a bit hyper- sensitive on K band and is actually picking up 2 bogeys at this particular location and the second bogey is a real weak K bogey that it is able to detect. so it is doing its job just like it should.

Another great job by VR and as always they never stop untill it is perfect and they make sure the customer gets what they bought.

When upgrading the firmware on the V-1, did you send just the actual radar locator, or did you send the power cords, suction cups, etc? Did you send it in the original V-1 packaging? Do you need to send in a copy of the reciept? What did your note say, can you paste a copy so I know what to say?

How long did the units take to be returned from when you shipped them, 1 week, 2 weeks? Thanks!

I sent only my V1's with no accessories, they were able to both fit into the facotry box and I sent them overnight ups because they will return them the same type of service you ship to them. So if you send it in to them ground you will get it back ground. They had my two units a total of two days and overnighted it back to me and I received them on 12-23. On the note just state that you wish to have your unit software ugraded to 3.826 and include your return address.

Cool... maybe I can finally get my V1 upgraded w/POP & Euro.

Has anyone compared a 3.826 to a pre-POP 1.8 (3.813 etc.) in terms of falsing, etc. yet?

I can agree that it has fixed the K band ghosting. I used to aim my RD tester at the v1, and it would go up to 4 bogeys. Now it stays at one
