Help With Settings On My V1

I got my V1 about 2 weeks ago. In those two weeks I have learned to love it! It beats my 8500 hands down. Within the first week I turned off X and pop mode on it to quiet it down in the city but I don't know if I should turn those back on when I go on the highway. I live in Wausau Wisconsin and travel around northern and western wisconsin quite a bit. Does anyone know if I should just keep those off or turn them back on when I travel? Now when I am in the city I get a ton of K band falses. It didn't really bother me until my dad was driving my car and every time the V1 went off my dad was asking where the cop is and I said its a false alarm. I have heard of the muting on k band but I am worried about it because the police in my city for sure use K band. Had 2 saves last week by looking at the bogey counter on k band. I really want to quiet it down but I don't want to put myself at the risk of a ticket by quieting it down. Any ideas of what I should do?

Keep POP OFF. The odds of you running into it are the same as you winning the lottery. As for X band, check this thread to see if it is used in your area:

Basically... it is up to you.

I never (rarely) use the V1 in the city because I don't like it there... but if I did... I would not use any muting in your situation where K-band is the gun of choice in your area.

So I checked out that site. My city isn't on there but it looks like every city in wisconsin listed doesn't use the X band.

I actually just got my V1 in a few days ago, and it is much quieter than what I expected. I don't live in a big city, but have plenty of places like Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart, Target, etc. I like the K band muting settings a whole hell of a lot. Mute doesn't actually mean mute in this setting. The lever volume control is what controls the K band alerts, which can be set to however loud you want or need it. Very nice.
