Default I just took the plunge.

My 8500 refurb has been dying lately. (Ka falses, laser falses, etc...) Although I haven't noticed any problems on range as of yet. I know it will be a matter of time until I need to get a new detector. My brother has used a v1 for years and he is lucky since he has one of the earlier models. I am aware that my new one will probably not be quite as sensitive, but hey, its a v1 though right?

Somebody convince me that I made the right decision. I know I will LOVE the arrows, but I just dont know about not having SpecDisplay, since that is how I determined all of my falses. I guess that is what a 30 money back guarantee is for...

    Just get it.

I could care less about the specs for the bands, but I'm curious as to what they use. Who cares

The arrows are a great benefit. I've had troopers come from the rear with their radar on and I slowed down to see them fly by.

Bogey counter is great for speed traps that have more than one unit (category4 shows a great vid with this) and the counter is good for areas that have a lot of falses. If you drive by a lot you'll see how many signals you get normally and if there is an extra one you know whats up.

Plus, the range is very very good.

Finally, once you go black you can't go back

personally me I prefer the spec over the arrows, but the arrows are a definite benefit and do make up for the loss of the spec, plus the increase in range over the 8500 that you will get

    Damn right!

Enjoy the v1. Make sure to read what bands are used by you and check if they use X. If they don't disable it.

X is definitely going off, and there is virtually no K-band in SoCal, but I have it on at the moment on my 8500 so I'll probably leave it on on the v1 too.

A new V1 is a great piece of equipment and you've made a wise choice.

Find out what bands are not used in your area and disable them. (Ka and laser should be left ON at all times)

Hardwire and get the concealed display.

    Welcome to the light!

Where you guys think I should put it? The green spot is ideal but I dont really want to put tape, etc. over the dots in order to have it stick. So maybe just the blue spot?

EDIT: Sorry didnt know the words were going to be so small. The Red = Current, Temporary spot. Green = Desired Location. Blue = Easiest/Probable location.
