Pulled over & let go in NC

Any one know, or can tell me, if NC Highway Patrol is using a band that the V1 cant detect/has known issues with?

A few days ago was driving down 421. I just happened to glance over the median to see a Highway patrol car... looked at my speed and was 77 in a 55. I saw his brake lights in the mirror and figured he was turning around to stop me, which is exactly what he did.

My V1 never even chirped...

He approached the vehicle, stated my speed as 77 in a 55 (So his matched my reading), then I think he simply stated that he'd appreciate it if I would slow it down a bit and let me go.

I think he let me go based on either, 1) My military uniform in the back seat, 2) Temp tags on my new truck, 3) just being kind... 4) all the above.

But bottom line is it still concerns me that I never detected him. Since then I have triggered on other 'traps'/etc in k & ka, and this morning Laser, so I am pretty sure my system isnt faulty.

Road was straight with no curves or hills. System wasnt muted it simply didnt alert at all.

Any ideas?

Most likely Laser. What area of N.C. I grew up in Goldsboro.

1. The description of where he was in relation to you and how his vehicle was positioned isn't very clear.

2. What bands are turned on your V1?

I can sort of see what happened with this story..........but I will wait for the OP to respond.

Maybe he used POP and knew he could not give you a ticket legally. Do they use POP in NC? Do you have POP turned on?

If the trooper was moving it was not laser. It is possible you had X band turned off and he was running X band. Or maybe your V1 is out of tune and missed a K or Ka band alert.

There is one other possibility. Was he using VASCAR?

He need to come back on to answer some of the questions so we can pin point on how the officer stuck him with that ticket.

I guess the picture was clearer in my mind than I described it.

Both Patrol vehicle and I were moving (oposite directions). The road is a two 2-lane highways seperated by a 50' median.

Not really sure where he was positioned when he actually got me but I saw the vehicle when he was approximate 45 degrees to the left of my truck (seperated by the median). Actually pretty embarassed at how close he was before I even saw the car... I am usually much more observant

My V1 is a V1.8 - POP 2 with Euro: The V1 site shows no further avail upgrades.
It is set to alert on all bands (A in the display) and all bands are turned on. Actually not sure about the Euro mode..?!? Will look when the wife gets back with my truck.

Sounds like it might need to go back to VR for a tune up. If you truly have all bands turned on the V1 missed something. I would also verify you have all bands enabled (X, K and Ka) as well as the version number.
