    Default V1 K Band Range ?? V1(3.872)

About two weeks ago I purchased my V1 3.782 to replace my bel vector 995 and was wondering if my v1 is working properly. The videos and stories I see all talk about the v1 detecting from a mile to a mile and a half away the most range I've gotten is .6 or .7 of a mile. I know most of the videos are under optimal conditions but I was wondering what you guys think he is my v1 vs a speed sign sorry for the sideways vid.

i find that speed signs seem a little weaker than actual LEOs. .6 or .7 seems about what I normally get for a speed sign.

Awesome K band range for a 3.872, or any RD for that matter. The curve is what decreases range dramatically. If you are alerted before seeing the LEO/speed sign your good to go.

My V1 reacts exactly the same with same alert distances, the only thing better is my 9500ci.

Most decent detectors are pretty close range wise so no detector is completely going to blow away another decent model. Its the all around performance that makes one better than other. Consistent alerts, solid rampup, immunity to q/t and the arrows is what makes a v1 a better choice than most others. If you are waiting on complete desctruction of your bel radar just on range, you will never be satisfied with a v1.

As CJ said, I wouldn't worry about miles of warning on a curve. You are good to go if you can hear the Leo before they can see you

Thank You all for the replies I figured the speed sign would be lower power than a real leo. But I just wanted to see what you guys thought

I wouldn't chalk it up to lower power than a real LEO, that doesn't seem to be the case. Just limitation of radar around curves, and the V1's off axis sensitivity. The encounter was just fine, and normal.

lol yeah sorry I took it with my cell phone so it came out sideways.

Also if I can ask what do you guys think of pop, I've read stuff that says pop on increases range on bands and it increases chances of picking up q/t and i/o. I've also read that pop off does not effect q/t and i/o and increases range but i dunno i/o is important to my aera because my state patrol uses k band instant on and lidar heavily.
