    Lightbulb Valentine One Portugal

I there, finally i buy a detector.... The Valentine One (The best)

    It's programed to Spain.

I need know if it works perfect in Portugal, or if i need change anything.

In a old post some user says that i need Ka Band (I think) and in some website the information is the next.

Valentine One For Portuguese (Multanova e Gatso) :
    • Band X: off
    • Band K: on
    • Band Ku: off
    • Band large Ka: off
    • Band close Ka (34,0-34,3 GHz): on
    • Euro Mode: on
    • Laser: on

    It start in Euro Mode...

Can I make a Full test?

There should be only one Ka-band settings and then there's Euro-mode.

I would turn them both ON.

You need to drive around for a bit and analyze what equipment is used, then it's easy to figure out what bands are used.

Didn't Spain outlaw Radar detectors? Might want to do some research on that as well.

Here is the programming guide for the V1:

    Ask Mike - Report #3

Make sure option # 3 and 6 are turned on.

Option u is for Euro mode, I don't know a whole lot about this option except from what V1 said, which is "it intensify the coverage for certain parts of the Ka-band frequencies used in Europe"....

The best way is to leave all bands on and drive around with the V1 for a while.

See what you pick up and then see if it's a speed trap. Then you can start tighting things down until you got it just right.

josetrate, take a look at the homepage of TODORADES. They have much information about RDs in Spain and I'm sure you will find your answers on the forum.

Mounted high and HORIZONTAL with the road. Do not mount vertical. Leave ALL bands on as stated.
