Is there anyway to test the laser detector portion of my valentine one laser detector?
Heres why I ask:
I replaced my old, old v1.7 valentine one with a new valentine one v3.872. I did this 2 weeks ago. Ive traveled about 1500 miles (i work in sales) across ohio since then.
I am very familiar with laser and the laser detection capabilities (or lack thereof) of a detector.
I do get laser false alerts but have yet to detect a laser with the v3.872. In the most recent 2 false alerts, I looked for vehicles in my line-of-sight that are known to use laser assist cruise control (nissan, infinity). I did not see those types of vehicles.
All this said, Ive run across 3 state patrol cars and 1 local using laser (In all 4 cases, I observed the officer aiming the device as I passed).
In 0 cases did I actually get alert to a laser in use.
I find this odd. It was my understanding that the laser detection of v3.872 was said to be top of the pack, and leaps-and-bounds better than the v1.7 I replaced.
yes, I understand that when i receive a laser alert its likely too late. However, i felt my v1.7 would have went off in at least some of these recent encounters.
