can someone explain what Im up against Q/T Ka and V1....

I just read, in the Whistler forum, about a recently -ticketed driver that believes he got Q/T (quick trigger) on Ka. He claims his detector never went off.

Another poster explained that even the latest and greatest v1 cant detect it. I believe thats B$.

Can someone explain to me what my limitations are in detecting this? Can I turn Ka-guard OFF to increase my chances of detecting this?

Really depends on the terrain. If the signal travels far enough, it will be picked up by the V1's radar antenna and you'll get an alert. If the terrain isn't flat and the signal is so short since it's instant on, chances of detecting it go down.

You also don't know how he mounted his detector......

perfect example of Q/T against the v1,notice in speedups car his v1 never went off and you can hear me say did that thing go off?. stalker dsr2x ka 34.7.sometimes the best don't detect it range and officers choice comes into play. riptide's sti-r is Hot! on ka

Another poster said that any windshield mount can be had by a QT. Truth.

Another poster said the V1 in factory mode missed 5 of 5 in one test. Truth.

Another poster did not say the V1 cannot detect a Quick Trigger.

Taking another poster's comments out of context and putting a totally different spin on what he said is not going to get you any help by another poster.

V1's the best at picking up I/O - Q/T, period.

ull never know if you were hit with Q/T unless you ask the officer matter of fact he will never answer that ?.only way to find out is to get shot by it from someone who is none law enforcement.

Will I have more chance of picking it up with Ka guard off? or some change to my POP setting?

The reason why I find it hard to believe the valentine one has trouble detecting it (although the video above proves me wrong), is because Q/T is like POP.

The newest V1's can detect 50 mS POP bursts on Ka.

So SURELY it can detect a 250 mS (if I have that time interval correct) Ka quick trigger...

In the video above, was Ka guard ON or OFF ? What version V1 was it?
