After many hours of scouring the boards, I pulled the proverbial trigger on a V1. Very nice unit, I must say. However, this thing is sensitive! I live in Los Angeles (capital of false alerts... I know) and its beepin' or buzzin' or dwattin' every 5 seconds in the city.
I read a number of threads on programming it, but still have it in Big L mode (advanced logic). Still, X will pop up here and there, and K is very, very active. If I program it, will it help by eliminating X band entirely? Also, I dont know what real benefit it will provide for K-band. I think the feature was that K would be automuted. I would hate for a K band bogey to trap me, and its muted. I'll have to read up on that...
My Bel Vector 940 was never this chatty! I guess there is that big of a difference between a low-middle end detector and something like the V1. Would an Escort 9500 be this chatty, as well? Is this a day-to-day reality of a high end detector? (Assuming the 9500 didnt go through the same exact route each day to "learn" the locations).
