Today, I made a short little drive to town. I was waiting in a small line of traffic to get on a parkway, which is perpendicular to the parkway. I was about 6 car lengths away from getting on the parkway. There was a state trooper chasing somebody down about a half mile away from me, traveling up the parkway towards me. Long story short, I picked up a fairly strong Ka alert from him sitting perpendicular to the road he was traveling, while also being about 6 car lengths away from the road. I estimate I picked him up a good half mile away. It doesn't sound like much, but it really did impress me given my positioning and what not. I've always heard the Valentines were a bit weak on off axis encounters, but I sure wouldn't have guessed that with my encounter today. My best guess is that he was running 34.7 Ka.
Had a typo in the title. I meant "impressed", obviously.
