no sound from v1?

hey i just recently bought a used valentine 1.7 from craigslist and it detects things but doesnt make any noise? i duno im debating on whether i should service it or upgrade to 1.8. what do you guys think?

Buying used is never a good idea. Your speaker may be out. I'd first call VR and check to make sure it isn't stolen. If it isn't, then send it in for a tune up.

i checked online to make sure the serial wasnt stolen before so wer good on that note. So looks like im gona send it in for a tune up does anyone know the normal return time for this service?
