I am kind off puzzled.
I was expecting V1 to go off every 5-15 seconds and I admit that I am kind of disappointed.
I use V1 in A mode with X OFF.
23 miles drive to work from San Fernando Valley to El Segundo (Los Angeles “the capital of false alerts” or is it?)
With X off I get only a few false alerts:
1 at 101 and 405 single beep with one light on (K band)
2 at Sunset same as above
3 at Howard Hughes (shopping mall next to a freeway) this one can get up to 3 bars.
And Yesterday I got my first V1 moment.
On the way back home to San Fernando Valley I got very low KA right before Sunset and sure enough there was a COP right at the end of the on ramp with a customer in the right shoulder facing forward. So I got about 500-600 feet warning.
Keep in mind that traffic is very heavy at this time. I think I probably was driving 25-30 in a 65 zone.
So as soon as I pass this car arrow shifts to the rear and stay at full blast and then freeway kind of curves around a mountain and up the mountain. KA gradually goes down but shows me 2 bogeys (I am thinking that it is probably ghosting and I also have a metal tint all around). As soon I as get to the top of the hill KA getting stronger and stronger with 1 bogey now but always with a rear arrow. As soon as I get almost to the bottom of the hill KA is at full blast and another cop on the bike passes me on the left side.
Another thing that I’ve never thought about before I got V1.
Any time when I go to a convenience store (CVS) some time I get 1 bogey sometimes 2 sometimes 3 and 4. My guess is it depends on which door is opened. Could it be that V1 doesn’t pick up transmitters from inside the store unless outside doors are opened? And another question comes to mind how many drive bys will it take for 9500 before it can auto learn all different sensors even from a single store? If you have a shopping plaza with a few stores? And with increased number of transmitters, how much of the band you are actually blocking?
