Probably one reason every K alert you had before was a cop is because their radar signal is A LOT stronger than the door openers, so your out of tune V1 would need a "jolt" of strong radar to detect it.

I don't disagree, I'm just saying I liked it better; it only warned me when it was a real cop. Who wants to be alerted to door openers?

Argh, haven't I already shown that there definitely is a point at which the detector is too sensitive? EX; if you could detect cops 4 states away, the RD would become useless to you.

Initiate 7 like mentioned and add in your own mixture of b,c,d. Might want to mute rear antenna unless you've seen them zap from behind.

I did 30 sec muting with punch-through of high signals. This helped a little, but I sit at street lights near these sources (I still maintain that they are strong x-band sources, not k-band door openers) for more than 30 seconds, and if they are strong enough, it alerts.
I also feel like I'm loosing 30 seconds worth of real police radar detection out on the road.

I bought a brand new V1 because the secondhand V1 I bought wasn't picking up the false signals that I was used to from my STI, which in my view meant it was out of tune !!!

Why didn't i just send the second hand V1 in to be tuned, too much hassle with postage over here. In saying it was out of tune, it certainly saved my arse on many occasions as it is C/O over here.
