Default Upgrades and serial number changes

If you notice that when you upgrade to any Euro version you also get a new serial number. If you upgrade with the non Euro version you keep you same serial number. I only mention this for people who use the upgrade page of the VR website to check to see if you have the lastest version.

The serial number is tied to the hardware revision of the unit. That's how the website is able to tell you what upgrades are available based on you punching in your serial #.

So if you send it in and they make a hardware change (e.g. adding POP and/or Euro), you get a new serial #. If you send it in and they only flash new firmware into it (3.82x to 3.826, or 3.818 to 3.819), you keep the same S/N since your hardware configuration didn't change.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!
