Thanks guys for your help I'm thinking it might be this bmw windshield that's degrading the signal. I had one laser false alarm and only 2 very week x band warnings in very heavy NYC urban driving. Does anymethod exist to test the windshield? I am starting to think I might have to go with a custom system like the escort 9500ci. The only problem with that is I was planning on getting shifters from li I hear the escort shifters aren't as good. Once again thanks for your help it is appreciated.

Since it seems you have the windscreen described in the link above the 9500CI is a good choice and while it does come bundled with the Shifter crap, it can be installed without them. For Lidar protection you should look only to the LI dual or quad system, nothing else out there compares to its performance.

Maybe i should go with the passport qi45 and the laser interceptors instead of wasting money on the 9500ci if im not going to use the shifter that come with the unit. What do you guys think

I would suggest a different remote mount than the 9500CI then use the spare money for LI.

However, I have no idea how good the QI45 is.

I am sure someone else knows.
