Default V1 location in a Tahoe

Well, I dumped my Impala this weekend and I'm in a Tahoe Z71 now. With the Impala, it was very nice as I had the V1 mounted above the rearview, but peeking out below the tint strip. The Tahoe is set up a little differently and the mirror is mounted a little higher on the windshield. So, I can't put the V1 above the mirror and still peek out under the strip.

Currently, I have it under the rearview, as high as I can get it and still see the display.
Anybody have any other creative options for mounting the V1 in that vehicle? With it being under the rearview and only a couple inches away from the compass sensor, this shouldn't have any effect on radar reception, should it?

No that should not have any effect. I have it mounted very close to the compass and it has zero effect on my reception. As a matter of fact My V1 is mounted right behind the RVM, with only the rear antenna peeking out to get signals from the rear. I use the concealed display (CD) remotely mounted on my instrument panel.

I don't have a Tahoe, but the principle is the same, mounting in close proximity to the RVM. It is so close I almost have to move the mirror to access the volume knob.

I like the visor mount in the winter, not having to deal with suction cup issues, but reception up there was not quite as good.

Cool, thanks for the info... I don't need it interfering with anything
I may do the CD or at least a remote mute because that is a lot farther to reach in the truck than was in my Impala

I highly recommend the remote display! Just get lots of telephone cord and the phone plug crimping tool and you're good to go.
